Sad News: Vols key player devastated after serious heart break from wife

Keenan Pili, a former Brigham Young University linebacker, is adjusting to Tennessee’s football team, as are the other 26 newcomers who joined the Volunteers through the transfer portal or as midyear entrants from high school.

Pili is just at a different point in his life.

“It’s been really smooth,” the 6-foot-3, 238-pounder from Provo, Utah, said at a news conference this week. “I discuss it with my wife (Lindsey) all the time. It’s been a smooth transition for us, and I tell her that the team culture here is excellent and strong.

“You come in, and you never know how it’s going to be, but Tennessee has been really loving, and the players have been great to me.”

Pili (pronounced PEE-lee) and his wife reside in Knoxville. “I had no idea he was married.

Nicholaus “Nico” Iamaleava, born September 2, 2004, is an American football quarterback who has swiftly established himself in collegiate football. Nico, who is of Samoan origin and was born in Long Beach, California, began his football career at a young age.

Nico’s high school career was excellent, displaying his athletic abilities on the field. He attended Warren High School in Downey, California, followed by Long Beach Polytechnic High School. As a senior, he threw for 1,726 yards and 25 touchdowns while also scoring six times on the ground. His remarkable performance won him Polynesian Football Player of the Year and Polynesian Bowl MVP honors. These honors propelled him to the top rankings of the 2023 class.
