The Los Angeles Rams resigned one of its wide outs on Friday, after being seventh in scoring offense last season. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the NFC West club has signed quick wide receiver Demarcus Robinson to a one-year contract worth $5 million. Robinson signed a one-year contract with Los Angeles last season. He will now continue with the Rams for at least another year.

Robinson signed a one-year contract worth $1.1 million with the Los Angeles Rams last summer. The Florida prospect played only 32 snaps in the team’s first ten games, but saw his role expand in Week 11. He caught both of his targets for 24 yards and played 60% of the offensive snaps. He earned a similar snap share the next week, catching four catches for 55 yards and one touchdown. His playing time increased dramatically during the Rams’ final five games, with him taking over 85% of snaps all but once. He had 17 receptions for 264 yards and three touchdowns during that time. Robinson also performed well in the postseason, catching three catches for 44 yards. Robinson resigned with the Los Angeles Rams on Friday after serving as a complementary receiver alongside studs Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. Between 2016 and 2022, the 29-year-old played for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. He caught 145 passes for 1,679 yards and 14 touchdowns over his six-year career with the Chiefs. He has never missed a postseason game, including a Super Bowl victory with Kansas City in 2019.

Despite many analysts’ predictions that the Rams will struggle in 2023, Sean McVay’s team finished 10-7, securing a playoff position in a crowded NFC. After an injury-plagued 2022 season, quarterback Matthew Stafford passed for 3,965 yards and 24 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. He received his third Pro Bowl selection. Along with late-season standout Demarcus Robinson, the Rams and Stafford enjoyed a historic season from rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua. Over 17 games, the first-year pro recorded 105 receptions, 1,486 yards, and six scores. He established new rookie receiving records in yards and catches.
Meanwhile, All-Pro Cooper Kupp, despite missing time early in the season due to a lower-body ailment, had 59 receptions for 737 yards and five touchdowns. The trio of Kupp, Nacua, and now Robinson is primed to run it back next season.
