Green Bay Packers supporters had a positive first impression of their new defensive coordinator, Jeff Hafley. His inaugural press conference left fans ecstatic about the new-look Packers defense. He also mentioned a few key roles inside the style of defense he prefers to run.

One of these roles is Safety. Someone who “erases things.” As it turns out, there is a free agent Safety with a clear connection to Hafley.

According to Freddie Boston of Fansided, Jeff Hafley, the new Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator, will coach one free agent in college.

Jordan Fuller, a free agent, is one guy who seems to fit in well. The former sixth-round pick emerged as a crucial starter for the Los Angeles Rams’ defense. Fuller makes game-changing plays, having intercepted three passes and forced three fumbles in 2023.

We already know Fuller would fit well into the Packers’ new scheme. He collaborated with Hafley at Ohio State, and Fuller is a fan. Fuller praised Hafley in an interview with Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

According to Fuller, Fuller’s mind and understanding of the game are his superpowers. His in-game adjustments and preparation for offenses gave the Packers a winning edge. Pro Football Focus predicts Fuller will sign a two-year deal worth an average of $4.63 million per year, making him a top free-agent target.

Fullers’ 2022 season was cut short after three games due to injuries. However, 2023 was a banner year for the 25-year-old Safety. He tied his career high with three interceptions and made the second most tackles on the team (94). His teammates also picked him team captain for the second time in four seasons.

With the new league year beginning on March 13th, the 2020 sixth-round draft pick will become an unrestricted free agent.

Fuller has been an important part of the Rams’ defense for many years. His leadership on the Packers’ defense would be invaluable, and it seems probable that Hafley is seeking for just that.
