Leicester City ‘Found Out’ They Won’t Run Away With The Title, Says Leeds United Manager

Former Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn believes Leicester City are now aware that they will not win the Championship this season.

Going into the final 10 minutes of the game at Elland Road on Friday night, Leicester appeared to be on their way to a 1-0 victory and a 12-point lead at the top of the Championship table.

Leeds, on the other hand, rallied late to win 3-1 and trimmed Leicester’s lead to six points.

The Whites were already seen as automatic promotion hopefuls, and many believe they have the power to defeat Leicester in the race for the Championship this season.

Redfearn stated that on Friday night, Leeds informed Leicester that they are now riding the Foxes’ coattails and will not be racing away with the title in the coming months.

The former Whites manager stated on BBC Radio Leeds: “This is what it is all about.

“They discovered tonight, Leicester, that they are not going to run away with it; they have genuine rivals.

“Leeds have shown such determination, such will and such want for a team.”

Leeds face Chelsea in the FA Cup on Wednesday night, followed by a Yorkshire derby at Huddersfield Town the following weekend.
