Maybe a few names to keep an eye out for? Safety Jordan Fuller had three interceptions, three forced fumbles, and eight pass breakups in 17 games as a Rams captain last season. He’s 25 years old, played for incoming Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley at Ohio State in 2019, and should be reasonably priced. If De’Vondre Campbell is released, the Packers might also benefit from a seasoned inside linebacker.

Devin White, Josey Jewell, and Zach Cunningham are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents. What about cornerback Jeff Okudah? Not necessary to start, but the 25-year-old former No. 3 pick, whom Hafley coached at Ohio State, might enhance Green Bay’s cornerback depth.
Fuller had a terrific platform season, totaling 94 tackles, three interceptions, and three forced fumbles. His performance, combined with his ability to keep everything in front of him, makes him a good starter.

Fuller isn’t a ballhawk and lacks the athleticism to excel as a single-high player. Despite this, Fuller may continue to make a career as a quality starter as the league transitions to two-high coverage.

For the second consecutive season, the Green Bay Packers have a huge question mark at safety. In 2023, three players started nine or more games at safety and will all be unrestricted free agents. Jonathan Owens, Rudy Ford, and Darnell Savage are not under contract for 2024.

However, most teams want some continuity on their roster, regardless of the new defensive scheme brought in by Jeff Hafley.  It will be interesting to see who, if any, rejoin the Packers in 2024 and how the Packers add to the position.
