Michael Beale has explained why Jenson Seelt was dropped against Middlesbrough, admitting the decision was harsh on him.
Michael Beale admitted that Jenson Seelt was unlucky to be dropped for the game against Middlesbrough, but he believes it was vital to restore balance to his team.
Seelt played admirably at right-back in the win over Stoke City, but he was replaced by new acquisition Leo Hjelde at the Riverside.
Injuries to natural left backs Dennis Cirkin and Aji Alese persuaded Beale to transfer Trai Hume to the left and Seelt, a natural center-back, to the right.

However, with both of those players on the verge of receiving their tenth booking of the season, Seelt will almost certainly be given another chance in his native position soon.
“There’s going to be a couple of suspensions in the post, I think, with centre backs, and it’s important that Jenson will get an opportunity in there and show us what he can do,” Beale said in a statement.
“I’ve been very pleased with him. I was thrilled with Leo [Hjelde] last week. So that is a wonderful position for us to be in.”
