Tim Steidten updates West Ham following Liverpool’s announcement from Anfield.
According to the Daily Mail, West Ham technical director Tim Steidten would be hard-pressed to turn down a move to Liverpool if afforded the opportunity.
On February 5, the newspaper stated on its website that Steidten was on Liverpool’s list of candidates to fill the technical director position at Anfield amid a staff shake-up.
When Jurgen Klopp announced that he would be departing Liverpool at the end of the season, the Merseyside club began planning for the future, with Steidten mentioned as a possibility for a post upstairs.
Liverpool could come calling.
Whether you like it or not, a move to Liverpool is a significant step up from West Ham, and Steidten would be foolish not to consider the position if he thought it would be available soon.
The former Bayer Leverkusen manager has been credited with securing agreements for Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus since arriving in East London ahead of the summer transfer window, placing his services in high demand.
There have also been whispers about his friendship and previous experience with current Leverkusen manager and former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, who is one of the favourites to take over at Anfield when Klopp leaves in the summer.
Since the summer, rumours have circulated around the London Stadium that Steidten does not get along well with David Moyes, therefore his departure could benefit the manager.
In unrelated West Ham news, one source has revealed what they learned regarding Moyes’ contract negotiations.
