According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Green Bay Packers’ rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, may be interested in trading up in the 2024 NFL draft. Minnesota owns the eleventh overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

With Kirk Cousins becoming a free agency, it is possible that they will not re-sign the quarterback. This season, the Vikings also used Nick Mullens, Josh Dobbs, and Jaren Hall as quarterback. They all look to be ineffective long-term solutions for Minnesota.

Owler spoke on the potential of the Vikings trading up in the 2024 NFL Draft:

“They did a lot of quarterback research last summer and may seek one early in the draft, with free agent Kirk Cousins’ future in Minnesota uncertain. However, jumping from No. 11 to the top three would cost GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah a lot of draft cash.

The Vikings must have their sights set on someone if they plan to make a big play for a quarterback. It would be interesting to see where it would be located. The Chicago Bears own the first pick, the Washington Commanders own the second, and the New England Patriots own the third.

With the Green Bay Packers retaining quarterback Jordan Love for the next decade, the Minnesota Vikings must do the same.

Jordan Love has secured Green Bay’s quarterback position for the next decade. Minnesota has to find a quarterback for the next decade. Caleb Williams from USC, Drake Maye from North Carolina, and Jayden Daniels from LSU are the top quarterback prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft, and the Vikings clearly want one of them.

Minnesota’s attempt to go higher demonstrates their desire for their next signal caller. One of the reasons the Vikings may need to do this is that Green Bay is having a breakout season. They will be unable to compete in the division until they have a quarterback.

It is feasible that three quarterbacks will be drafted in the top three. The most logical option would be for the Minnesota Vikings to trade up from 11th to third. If that doesn’t work out, they may have to settle for J.J. McCarthy of Michigan, the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
