The Pittsburgh Steelers have decided to part ways with an important player as part of a double transaction.

“But That’ll Be A Key Decision” The Pittsburgh Steelers face a decision on Najee Harris’ future as contract talks loom.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, led by running back Najee Harris and coach Mike Tomlin, finished 10-7 this season and qualified for the NFL playoffs.

The Steelers, a team famed for its elite running game over the last four decades, were no exception this season. Harris, the team’s star rushing back, is still waiting to hear if he will return for another season.

During a recent press conference, Steelers owner Art Rooney discussed the future of former first-round selection Harris.

“We’ll be working on that as well as all the other things we have to do in the offseason, but that’ll be a key decision as we get closer to the draft in May.”

Najee Harris, the 24th pick in the 2021 draft, has recently completed his third season in Pittsburgh. The Steelers will now have to decide whether to exercise their fifth-year option on the former Alabama running back.

This season, Harris ran for over a thousand yards (1035) and scored eight touchdowns. Last season, he scored 10 touchdowns and rushed for 1034 yards. Harris has 1667 total yards and 10 touchdowns in 2021, which was arguably his best season.

Jaylen Warren was an important part of Pittsburgh’s offense, but Najee Harris was the focal point of a run-heavy attack. Kenny Pickett, a local lad who attended the University of Pittsburgh, failed to live up to expectations this season, forcing the Steelers to rely heavily on the run game.

Harris, who signed with the Steelers in 2021, has 3,269 running yards, 22 touchdowns, and an average of 3.9 yards per carry.
