The Jacksonville Jaguars enjoyed a solid start to the regular season. Jacksonville was 8-3 entering Week 13 and on track to make the playoffs.
Unfortunately, the team’s downward trend began in Week 13, when they fell in overtime to the Cincinnati Bengals. Trevor Lawrence suffered a high-ankle sprain in that game, which limited his ability for the rest of the season. Lawrence also had a concussion and an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder later on.
Jacksonville had lost four of its past five games and was eliminated from playoff contention in their final regular-season game.
The Jaguars will have a busy offseason because they have numerous free agents and a restricted salary cap. According to OverTheCap, they have approximately $11 million in cap space.

When you bring in someone who hasn’t played football in over a year and a half, you have to knock the rust off, which he did, and at times, he showed exactly who he was and who he can be.

Ridley had 76 receptions on 136 targets, for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns. He averaged 59.8 yards per game, a 55.9% catch rate, and a 71.4 PFF grade.
What considerations could influence his decision?
Two reasons influence his decision.
The first factor is a salary cap. As previously stated, Jacksonville’s salary cap will be about $11 million, but the team will most likely restructure or remove players to boost cap room.
Baalke promises Josh Allen will be a Jaguar by 2024. They’re working on a long-term agreement. If they can’t come up with one, Allen might be franchised. If Allen receives a large contract, Jacksonville will have minimal salary room and may be unable to sign Ridley.
The second consideration is Ridley’s ideal salary. Jacksonville may offer him a contract, but he resists because he prefers a larger one.
Will he be a Jaguar next season?
This offseason will be interesting, particularly for the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have a large number of unrestricted free agents but limited cap space, therefore the organization cannot afford to sign everyone.
