Leeds United now have three days to conclude any outstanding transfer business.

The Whites have yet to make any new additions in the January window, and time is running out if they want to improve their team before the deadline on Thursday night.

Leeds’ biggest goal for the next 72 hours will undoubtedly be defence, and given how close they supposedly got to acquiring Daiki Hashioka, they are trying hard to get something done.

One name that keeps coming up is Everton’s Ben Godfrey, who would provide Leeds with Premier League quality and variety if he moved to Elland Road.

And now there’s a new update in Leeds’ pursuit of the 26-year-old, with iNews suggesting that Everton are planning to allow both him and Michael Keane go following Sean Dyche’s approval.

Leeds target Godfrey is expected to quit.

Leeds are set to face stiff competition from across Europe for Godfrey, but it appears that Daniel Farke’s team is pressing the hardest for him at this stage.

The Whites are thought to have made a loan proposal for Godfrey, but Everton would rather sell him than let him go temporarily.

Leeds, on the other hand, is apparently willing to include an obligation to buy, though it is unclear whether Everton will accept this.

As previously stated, Godfrey would be an excellent addition for Leeds, with his flexibility to play in all places across a back four being a significant advantage given the club’s present lack of depth at the back.

Godfrey is also familiar with Leeds manager Farke, having worked for him at Norwich City earlier in his career. Hopefully, this will be the key to closing the sale.
