Everton and Luton Town are interested in acquiring a Nigerian striker on loan ahead of deadline day.

Everton and Luton Town are interested in signing Anglo-Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom on loan before the winter transfer window ends on Thursday.

According to TEAMtalk, the two Premier League clubs want to sign the former Middlesbrough forward to assist them retain their Premier League position.

Everton are one point from relegation after being docked ten points for violating Premier League profit and sustainability regulations.

The Toffees are also suffering in front of goal, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Arnaut Danjuma scoring only 24 goals, the fourth lowest total in the division.

Luton, on the other hand, sits 18th in the table and, like Everton, has scored only 24 league goals this season.

Akpom’s signing might assist both sides if he can reproduce his Championship form from last season with Middlesbrough.

After a rocky start at Ajax, the Hale End product has found his footing in recent months, scoring nine goals in twenty games.

It has been reported that the 28-year-old will consider a move to the Premier League, but it remains to be seen whether Ajax will agree to a deal for him to return to England.
