Rumor: Inter Miami linked with Argentine Sergio Busquets re-gen

Inter Miami is once again linked with another midfielder.

After failing to make the playoffs in 2023, the Fort Lauderdale-based team made it a priority to address the faults with their roster.

“We’re looking into everything to improve the squad. We have big expectations for 2024, and we want to demonstrate what we can do as a club,” Club CSO Chris Henderson noted.

“Winning trophies and having high ambition is something we’ve had since day one.”

Miami has already signed players such as striker Luis Suarez, defender Nicolas Freire, and winger Julian Gressel.

The Herons are now linked with another potential young midfielder.

Inter Miami’s midfield savior?

According to a Tweet from Rincon MLS, during the pre-game show of Argentina’s Juniors match versus River Plate, on-air commentators said that Inter Miami was potentially interested in midfielder Federico Redondo’s services.

Inter Miami confirm signing of free agent Sergio Busquets

Redondo is a 6’2″ midfielder who excels in his position. Although he lacks Busquets’ class, his box-to-box skills would make him an excellent complement for the Spaniard.

Though this is merely a rumor, it’s clear that Miami wants another central midfielder.

The Herons are reportedly interested in signing Cristian Medina and Agustín Palavecino to expand their roster.

There’s still plenty of time to make adjustments, though, with MLS’ roster compliance date set for February 20th in Miami.
