JUST NOW: The Miami Dolphins have signed another excellent defensive coordinator.

RUMOR: Miami Dolphins Expect to Interview Outside Linebackers Coach Ryan Slowik for Defensive Coordinator Position

In addition to Staley, the Dolphins asked for permission to interview Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Bobby Babich. According to Jordan Rodrigue of The Athletic, McDaniel is also interested in Ejiro Evero, but the Panthers are preventing Evero from interviewing for open positions at the moment.

The 49ers’ quest for another last-second miracle merits a thorough rewind.

It’s January 14, 2012. We are at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. With 14 seconds remaining, down three, and facing a third down, the 49ers need a touchdown to keep their playoff hopes alive – without going into overtime. Meanwhile, the Saints can end this with a takeaway and travel to the NFC Championship Game themselves. To understand how we got here and appreciate what this moment signifies, we must rewind.

However, we can add another name to Miami’s increasing roster.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the Dolphins will interview Ryan Slowik, the outside linebackers coach.

Slowik joined McDaniel’s coaching staff in 2022 as a special defensive assistant and was promoted to OLBs coach this offseason. Slowik, like Campanile, stood out from the crowd on Hard Knocks. His unit was also one of the best spots on the squad before injuries took over; was that due to #elite skill, excellent coaching, or a combination of the two? It is up to McDaniel to find out.

Slowk spent 14 years as an NFL defensive coach before joining the Dolphins. His most recent jobs was coaching the Cleveland Browns’ OLBs in 2016 and working as a defensive line assistant for the New York Jets in 2015. He also had stints with the Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, and Green Bay Packers.

Slowik’s father, Bob, was a defensive coordinator in the NFL for ten years. His brother Bobby is the Houston Texans’ offensive coordinator. Maybe it’s Ryan’s turn to be an NFL coordinator. #TimeWillTell
