It’s reasonable to say that the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers is going to be different. Jordan Love had a better debut season than either of his predecessors in their first campaign without Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre at the quarterback position. At the end of the season, he had a 96.1 passer rating, 4,159 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions with a completion rate of 64.1%.

The sentiment around the Packers is largely upbeat despite their defeat in the divisional round. There is even a buzz around the defense that hasn’t been felt since Green Bay signed Preston Smith, Za’Darius Smith, and Adrian Amos in 2019 due to reports that the team is close to selecting 32-year-old Christian Parker as their next defensive coordinator.

If Love hadn’t been successful, there would be no reason for the squad to be so optimistic. In fact, his excellent play has won over supporters who, to begin the season, had their doubts about him. Love must also have struck up a fascinating relationship with Milwaukee’s Marquette University.

Coach Shaka Smart of Marquette gave his players a tour of Lambeau Field earlier this year. It was evident from the visit’s footage that every Marquette player was sporting a Love jersey. When Love was spotted courtside at Fiserv Forum on Saturday afternoon to watch Marquette defeat Seton Hall, supporters noticed something strange about him right away.

Shaka Smart, head coach of Marquette, praises Jordan Love following the game.
Shaka Smart, the head coach of Marquette, responded to Love sitting courtside during the game after it was over.

“My best quarterback was present in the room! Jordan Love is my favorite. You know, I haven’t watched much NFL since I started teaching. But because of him, I now watch the Packers. It was amazing to having him here, Jordan, and we need to figure out how to obtain your address so we can send you some Marquette merchandise and let you know that you are also unbeaten.

Seeing Love at a collegiate basketball game in Milwaukee was undoubtedly cool. He’s a native of California, so it seems sense that he’s chosen to remain here a little while longer.
