The Detroit Lions have made their roster decisions ahead of Sunday’s Divisional Round game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Fullback Jason Cabinda and defensive tackle Tyson Alualu were promoted from the practice squad to the active roster.
This is the second week in a row that both players have been promoted and activated for game day.
Julian Okwara was also re-signed to the practice squad. Cabinda has appeared in five games this season, including last week’s Wild Card game versus Los Angeles.
Cabinda was originally on the active roster but was removed after returning from an extended period on injured reserve.
After clearing waivers, he returned to the Lions’ practice squad and has been promoted in each of the last two games.
This week marks Alualu’s fourth promotion in a row. The 14-year veteran has made five tackles in his past three games.
The Lions have an excellent opportunity to extend their postseason run, as a victory would put them one win away from the Super Bowl.
As a result, veteran Taylor Decker stated that the club is excited about the opportunity to continue its journey toward football’s ultimate goal.
“I believe the most important thing to remember is how we got to this position. And it’s just going out there every day, being ourselves as players, and putting in the work,” Decker explained.
“Ultimately, we are certain that our coaching team will put us in the best position to succeed. We’re reached the point where we can participate in this game since we earned it.
