BREAKING: The Tennessee Titans have officially appointed a new coach.

The Tennessee Titans surprised the football world by announcing that they were parting ways with head coach Mike Vrabel after six seasons. Given his 54-45 record and three playoff appearances with the Titans, many expected him to find another position shortly. Now we may have a better idea of where Vrabel is headed.

Mike Vrabel Interviews With the Los Angeles Chargers

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Mike Vrabel visited Los Angeles today to interview for the Chargers’ head coaching vacancy. This is the first known head coach interview Vrabel has given since being sacked by the Titans. However, Vrabel will face some competition.

Will Jim Harbaugh join the Chargers?

Prior to the leak, the Chargers confirmed that they had interviewed another well-known football figure for the role of head coach. The name was Jim Harbaugh.

He is the Michigan Wolverines’ head coach, having held the position since 2015. He recently won his first national championship with Michigan during his time there. However, it was marked by a great deal of controversy.

The Big Ten punished Harbaugh for three regular-season games. The Big Ten believed Harbaugh was liable for the acts of his coaching staff during Michigan’s alleged sign-stealing controversy. This was met with a strong response from Michigan personnel throughout the season. However, it might push Harbaugh into the NFL.

Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans Move Forward

If the Chargers opt to hire Harbaugh or another contender, Vrabel will have to continue looking for work. Fortunately for him, there are still plenty of head coaching openings available across the NFL. One of them is the Tennessee Titans, who are still searching for Vrabel’s replacement. After firing their head coach and presumably losing star running back Derrick Henry this offseason, the Titans must now figure out how to move ahead.
