Mason Rudolph’s season with the Pittsburgh Steelers ended on Monday. After being delayed by a winter snow, Pittsburgh faced the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wild Card round. And Buffalo emerged victorious, moving on to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Round.

Rudolph took to social media on Friday to reflect on the year as a whole. “2023. I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity to play as a Pittsburgh Steeler again. “God certainly works in mysterious ways,” the Steelers quarterback wrote.

“There is no feeling on planet earth that rivals the thrill of victory alongside dear friends & teammates—Here’s to 2024,” Rudolph said in his post on Friday afternoon.

Mason Rudolph stepped up big for the Steelers in 2023.

Rudolph entered the 2023 season as Pittsburgh’s third-string quarterback. And for the majority of the season, he remained off the field. However, this altered later in the year. Starting quarterback Kenny Pickett suffered a high ankle sprain. In Week 16, the Steelers went to their former Oklahoma State qua

He performed well against the Cincinnati Bengals. The former third-round pick threw for 290 yards against the Bengals, leading Pittsburgh to a 34-11 victory. Despite a rough start, the Steelers went on to win their next three games, finishing 10-7.

Rudolph played reasonably well against the Bills. He completed 22 throws for 229 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception. In four regular-season games, Rudolph completed 55 passes for 719 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Mason Rudolph did not perform at a superstar level in 2023. However, when his team needed him, he stepped up and led them to the playoffs. It’ll be intriguing to watch how the former Oklahoma State quarterback fits into the Steelers’ quarterback room in 2024.
