Travis Kelce discusses the ‘honor’ of being chosen a Chiefs team captain before of Kansas City’s crucial playoff game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

During a picture shoot, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce talked about the ‘honor’ of being voted team captain.

Kelce made his comments in a video posted to the Chiefs X page earlier this week.

‘I believe coach [Andy] Reid does the captains deal for the team a little bit differently than a lot of other coaches in the league,’ Kelce explained. ‘Throughout the year, we have several captains. Every game day, the captains change.

Most of the time, it’s a man from the city where we’re playing or a player who has previously played for the team. And he provides them the opportunity to lead their team into war.

‘When it comes to the playoffs, he lets the players vote on who the captains are and who the people are who have risen throughout the season and will lead us into fight for the rest of the season.

‘That just means it’s such an honor to be named captain, to be on that sheet of paper that he’s passing around for people to choose from,’ Kelce added.

‘I know every year I’ve come, I’ve been really appreciative, and it gives me a lot of pride to be able to lead these guys out there.

Kelce and the Chiefs will take on the Buffalo Bills this weekend at Highmark Stadium.
