Breaking: The Green Bay Packers are on the verge of a massive franchise-altering extension.

The Green Bay Packers have already had a very successful 2023 season. Whether or not they defeat the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round of the playoffs, the Packers appear to have discovered their franchise quarterback and a young core of proven offensive weapons around him.

Now, reports indicate that the Packers are making great progress toward an agreement that will cement the new era in Green Bay.

The Green Bay Packers are working towards a massive extension.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Jordan Love is set to sign an extension after defeating the Dallas Cowboys in a landslide in the NFC wild card game. He is expected to be one of the top paid quarterbacks in the league after everything is said and done.

Packers Are a Model Franchise Amid a Changing League

“Jordan Love appears to be the Packers’ franchise quarterback,” Rapoport said in a video posted on X before Sunday’s game. “He did a Band-Aid extension before this season, for one-year and $22.5 million, in May.

“My understanding is that the Packers and his representation will have a serious conversation about the potential of a new deal,” Rapoport told NFL Network. “Nothing can be done before May, but don’t be surprised if he gets paid again — before next season.”

In his debut season as a starter, Love had 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, ranking seventh among NFL passes with 64.2% accuracy for 4,159 yards.
