Another elite player inks a new long-term contract with Leeds United.

Archie Gray of Harrogate has signed a new long-term contract with Leeds United.

Gray has been a fixture on United’s team sheet this season, making 28 appearances in all competitions.

The 17-year-old earned his English Football League Championship debut against Cardiff City at Elland Road in August.

His start against Cardiff last weekend tied the club record for most starts by a player under the age of 18.

Gray’s new contract length has not been published by the club. However, it is said to last till 2028.

Gray wrote on the club’s website:

“It feels fantastic; another dream has come true.

“Supporting Leeds and following the club my entire life is just a dream come true, as I have stated.

“It means a lot to me and my family; the club trusts me and my family, and I aim to return them.

“My family have supported me the whole way, giving me advice and helping me and now by training hard, I want to help them out and help my little brothers out.”

Gray finished his GCSEs at St John Fisher Catholic High School in Harrogate in 2022.

He got his first professional contract with Leeds United in March of last year.

He is also the grand nephew of Eddie Gray, a Leeds legend and Kirkby Overblow inhabitant.
