The Detroit Lions won their first playoff game in 32 years on Sunday, defeating the Los Angeles Rams 24-23 in the NFC Wild Card round at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. Their social media staff was prepared for the event.

Prior to the game, the NFL’s X account posted a video of famed actor Bryan Cranston wearing Rams clothing and yelling “go Rams.”

After the Lions defeated Cranston’s team, the Lions’ X account responded.

They published a snapshot of Cranston’s most famous acting part — Walter White from “Breaking Bad” — and used the character’s phrase after defeating his enemies, “I won.”

That is brutal and beautifully done.

The significance of the Lions’ playoff victory cannot be overstated. The city and the team’s fans have been waiting for this for three decades. This year’s team won the division and completed the task by winning its first playoff game. They will now host the victor of the Eagles-Buccaneers game the following Saturday.

The emotional high in Detroit is not going away.
