However, they may add someone this time to keep him upright for the foreseeable future.

Bleacher Report’s NFL Staff recognized the Packers’ acquisition of OL Amarius Mims in the 2024 NFL Draft:
Mims, the fourth offensive lineman and 28th overall pick on B/R’s NFL draft big board, may be the Packers’ best chance to replace Bakhtiari unless they move up. He’d have to switch from right to left tackle, or Zack Tom could switch sides of the center position, like Tom did in college.
“Mims is a towering figure with a rocked-up build, large hands, and long arms.” In the former Bulldog’s scouting report, B/R offensive line scout Brandon Thorn noted, “He is an easy, smooth mover with fluid redirect skills, range, and body control.”
“Mims is a raw, unpolished run-blocker who uses his big body and length to press and shield defenders away from the ball on down blocks, displaying excellent grip strength to latch and keep opponents at his fingertips once inside their frame.” He is particularly useful on screens and as a lead blocker, having excellent quickness to line up and blot out second-level threats.
“… Mims’ exceptional physical tools shine in pass defense, where he glides out of his stance into his 45-degree and vertical sets.” He has the range to protect the edge on an island, as well as the redirect abilities and body control to parallel the quarterback’s drop.”
The Packers Should Consider Adding A Left Tackle In The Future
The Packers believe to have discovered their next franchise quarterback in Jordan Love. He also appears to be surrounded by some great wide receivers. It is now the organization’s responsibility to ensure that Love is sufficiently protected.
Bakhtiari demonstrated in Week One that he is still one of the greatest left tackles in the NFL. Rasheed Walker, Yosh Nijman, and others have struggled to permanently secure Bakhtiari’s position.
