Aaron Rodgers couldn’t be happier for Jordan Love as he guided the Green Bay Packers to a Week 18 victory over the Chicago Bears and into the playoffs.
When the Packers needed him the most, Love delivered big time, ensuring that Green Bay does not repeat what happened last year, when they failed to make the playoffs in the final game of the season. This time, Love put his best foot forward and refused to let the Packers down.
Love was unstoppable against the Bears, completing 27 of 32 passes for 316 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Green Bay handed Chicago another loss in the Matt LaFleur era after they couldn’t find a way to slow him down.
Rodgers discussed Love’s performance in the 19-7 win on The Pat McAfee Show recently and even hit back at naysayers who were ripping on the young QB and the club early in the season. The former Packers quarterback shared his delight at seeing the 25-year-old succeed and lead the team to the playoffs.
“I’m quite proud of him. He’s a fantastic kid who’s had a good season. At 6-8, weren’t there a lot of people swarming on him?” Rodgers contributed.
“Jordan delivered a masterclass performance… He performed admirably. They took care of the football, made numerous plays, and are now in the playoffs. Aren’t there some wonderful storylines in the playoffs?”
Jordan Love deserves all of the acclaim he’s receiving. He had big shoes to fill after taking over as QB1 from Aaron Rodgers, and despite a shaky start, he was able to rediscover his rhythm and lead the team to victories.
Love had a really historic season, and there was no better way to end it off than with a “masterclass” performance versus the Bears.
Jordan Love has made a lot of history with the Green Bay Packers.
While the Green Bay Packers still have a chance to make the playoffs, Jordan Love has already made this season unforgettable.
Love set numerous remarkable records, which should give Packers supporters hope for further success in the future with the youngster leading the way.
According to USA Today, Love lead the NFL in games with multiple touchdown passes and zero interceptions with nine. He also has five games with at least three touchdowns and no interceptions, which ties him with Brock Purdy.
The Packers’ budding star is also tied for the league lead in most games with a passer rating of at least 100.0, and he ranks second in touchdown passes and fourth in total touchdowns.
With that kind of performance in his first year as a starter, Love can only expect tremendous things as he gains more experience.
