The Green Bay Packers are more confident than they have been all season as they enter the 2023-24 postseason. Three straight wins to close the season moved the Packers to the NFC’s seventh seed. The Packers will now face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
However, one previous Packers coach was fired after only two seasons with his new team.
News from the Packers
The Chicago Bears fired former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy after the team failed to make the playoffs.
Getsy was named as the Bears’ offensive coordinator in January 2022. Getsy was rehired as the Green Bay Packers’ quarterbacks coach in January 2019 by head coach Matt LaFleur. He was promoted to passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach on March 12, 2020.
Getsy was not the only one to lose his job, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport on Wednesday. Quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko will also be looking for work after the Bears chose to let him go.
The Bears will have two critical spots open this offseason after finishing the season with a 17-9 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
