Green Bay Packers superstar Jaire Alexander hilariously gatecrashed a live TV report on Monday morning, and the unknowing journalist mistook him for a fan!
The mood at Lambeau Field is upbeat after a 17-9 victory against the Chicago Bears on Sunday secured a crucial wildcard playoff matchup against the Dallas Cowboys next week.
A local news reporter was stationed outside the stadium the morning after the game, providing a piece to camera about the team’s success.
Packers great Alexander pops out of nowhere and takes over, stating, ‘I’m just here to inform you: Pack is back,’ before putting on his sunglasses and walking away.
Undaunted, the reporter resumes her live article, utterly ignorant that the man next to her is the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history, with a four-year $84 million contract.
In an attempt to reclaim control, she told viewers, ‘You heard it from a fan right here: Pack is back.’
Fans soon flocked to social media to mock the video, while also remembering the reporter’s gaffe.
‘I’m going to be honest,’ one user posted on X. There aren’t many players I’d know by their face in street clothes, and I’m sure she wasn’t expecting a player to walk into her interview at that point.’
Others, on the other hand, took no prisoners and slammed the reporter, writing, ‘How does she not identify players on the team she covers every week!’
It’s unclear whether the reporter is a regular at Lambeau Field or if she got a rare football position on the local news station.
The Packers will go to Dallas next Saturday night, with a berth in the divisional round on the line if they win.
