The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have extended American linebacker Brian Cole’s contract by one year, linking him to the franchise until 2024. He was slated to become a free agent the following month.

In 2023, the six-foot-two, 210-pound defender appeared in 15 games for the club, recording three defensive tackles, 14 special teams tackles, and three forced fumbles.

The 26-year-old joined the Blue Bombers in the middle of the 2022 season and appeared in 11 games, earning six special teams tackles.

The Minnesota Vikings selected Cole in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Miami Dolphins, the Carolina Panthers, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the Edmonton Elks.

CFL free agency begins on Tuesday, February 13 at 12:00 EST.
