Mike Vrabel’s Tennessee Titans will finish last in the AFC South for the first time in his six-year NFL head coaching career. Vrabel guided his team to a 12-21 record (36% win rate) after winning 41 games in his first four years (63% win rate).

While there have been multiple complicating variables during the last two seasons, like as Ryan Tannehill’s injuries, which have resulted in a bottom-five scoring attack, the Titans can’t afford to continue down this non-competitive path. The Titans’ early success was fantastic, but this is a ‘what have you done for me lately’ business, and the Titans aren’t getting the job done.

Following their recent problems, various reports have surfaced claiming that Vrabel and the Titans may part ways this offseason. Only, according to sources, it may be Vrabel, not Tennessee’s front staff, who wants to move on.

With a possible head coaching position in New England, would Coach Vrabel trade in his Titans jersey to rejoin the team with which he won three Super Bowls?

Vrabel addressed the media on Wednesday, providing unequivocal clarity on his contract situation, knowing that there are many uncertainties regarding his future in Tennessee.

“Of course I’d like to be here.” We’ll be here as long as we can win, as long as we can pull this off, and it’s been fantastic. However, it has only been this year. Nobody wants to be where we are.”

What about the rumors that Vrabel isn’t on the same page as general manager Ran Carthon or doesn’t want to cooperate with him? Totally false.

“If we believed everything that was on social media, it’d be Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and there’s no tooth fairy, you know that,” Vrabel went on to say. “So I’ve never responded to any of those.” We’re not going to begin now.”

We’re surprised there’s no tooth fairy, but it’s good to know Coach Vrabel isn’t leaving this summer.
