The Green Bay Packers are without a Pro Bowler for the first time since 2005. Only one Packers player, Keisean Nixon, was named among the top ten vote getters at his position (kick returner) when the 2024 Pro Bowl rosters were announced. This could change in the coming weeks, since five Green Bay Packers players have been nominated as alternates. Because Pro Bowl players will surel Green Bay Packers y drop out, one or more Packers players may be named after all.

This does not change the reality that a few Green Bay players may have been left out of the games. Nixon, for example, has more kick return yards and punt return yards combined than Rashid Shaheed (the NFC’s Pro Bowl kick returner). Elgton Jenkins hasn’t allowed a sack this season and isn’t even on the roster. Rashan Gary is putting up ridiculous numbers despite not seeing any action until midseason.

However, each of these guys has the advantage of being one of the five Packers alternates. Depending on who drops out, they may be added to the Pro Bowl roster.

Jordan Love, the first-year starting quarterback, is not on either the Pro Bowl roster or the list of alternates. While his omission is not entirely unexpected, it is unfortunate considering he is enjoying a stronger season than Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was named to the NFC Pro Bowl as one of three quarterbacks. Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy were the others.

Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers deserves the Pro Bowl more than Matthew Stafford.

Packers' Matt LaFleur believes loss to Steelers turned tide

Fan voting is one of the most important aspects in deciding Pro Bowl lineups, thus Stafford’s inclusion makes sense. Los Angeles boasts one of the country’s largest fan bases. That doesn’t change the fact that Love has outperformed Stafford in the majority of passing metrics this season:

Jordan Love Matthew Stafford
Completion % 63.1% 62.6%
Passing Yards 3,843 3,965
Touchdowns 30 34
Interceptions 11 11
Passer Rating 93.8 92.5
4th Quarter Comebacks 2 1
Game Winning Drives 3 2

As previously stated, the one important metric in which Stafford outperforms Love is passing yards. Aside from that, Love has been the better quarterback this season.

Furthermore, the Rams haven’t been much better than the Packers this season. While the two teams are the sixth and seventh seeds in the NFC, Love and the Packers can move ahead of the Rams in the standings if they beat the Chicago Bears on Sunday and the Rams lose to the San Francisco 49ers.

Other Options Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers has made a case for the Pro Bowl.

Love’s Pro Bowl status, or lack thereof, is obviously the product of his and the offense’s dismal play in October. Those games, however, did not prevent him from having greater numbers than Stafford, nor did they upset his confidence.

Aside from season-long statistics, Love has proven to be one of the NFL’s greatest quarterbacks in a variety of ways since November, including this intriguing data from the Packers’ cheat sheet:

Love is the only quarterback in the NFL to throw for 1,800 yards and 16 touchdowns with one or fewer interceptions and a completion percentage of 68.0 or higher in seven games this season (Week 11-17).

Love is the first NFL quarterback to reach those totals in seven consecutive games since Packers QB Aaron Rodgers in 2021 (Week 11-12, 14-18).

This season, Love has eight games with multiple touchdown throws and no interceptions. This is tied for the most in the NFL with Brock Purdy. Prescott has seven of these contests. Stafford possesses four.

Love is tied for third in overall touchdowns among NFL quarterbacks with 34 (Prescott). Only Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts had a higher total. Purdy has 33 points. Stafford has a total of 24.

Jordan Love Is Going to Get His

Love has unquestionably established himself as Green Bay’s future quarterback. If he can put up these types of numbers in his first year as a starter, he can only get better in the future.

He may have been passed over for this year’s Pro Bowl, but he almost surely will be selected for several Pro Bowls in the future.
