Jim Harbaugh, the head coach of the University of Michigan football team, makes a fantastic proclamation.

The Michigan football team’s stunning Rose Bowl triumph over the Alabama Crimson Tide continues to draw attention. The Wolverines’ dramatic overtime victory secured their place in the College Football Playoff Championship. Jim Harbaugh praised JJ McCarthy in a way that may irritate Tom Brady fans.

JJ McCarthy is lauded for leading the Michigan Wolverines to an outstanding Rose Bowl victory.
Following Monday night’s game, Harbaugh discussed McCarthy’s place on Michigan’s all-time quarterback list:
According to Brett McMurphy, “I’ve said it before, but this is the greatest quarterback in University of Michigan-college football history.”

“Got a long way to go to get to where Tom Brady eventually got to, which is the GOAT,” the coach concluded. But nobody at Michigan has been better than JJ in his college career. I know we talk about it as a group of quarterbacks. He’s the one.”

McCarthy has helped Michigan to three consecutive College Football Playoff trips. His sophomore and junior years were the most formative in his life.

McCarthy threw for 2,719 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2022, according to ESPN. He has passed for 2,630 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2023. Overall, the Wolverines quarterback has 5,865 passing yards and 46 touchdowns.

More importantly, McCarthy has played on some of the most successful college football teams in recent memory. In 2023, he helped Michigan compete for the national championship, and in 2024, he is doing the same.

The Michigan Wolverines will continue to revel in their Rose Bowl victory. They do, however, have unfinished business to attend to in the CFP finale.
