The Philadelphia Eagles are simply not a good football team in 2023. Their 11-5 record is deceptive, and they should think about replacing head coach Nick Sirianni. Yeah, the Tush Push and Dom DiSandro are awesome! That is incredible! Please give me a break. This Eagles club is underachieving all over the board and has regressed significantly from their spectacular 2022 season.

The Eagles have a solid record at 11-5, but it could not be more deceptive. According to Pro Football Reference, their expected win-loss record is 8.5-7.5, which translates to an 8-9 record based on points scored and points allowed.

Their season point differential is only +22, and they have lost four of their previous five games, all against the 49ers, Cowboys, Seahawks, and Cardinals. Their other loss occurred against the New York Jets, indicating that they not only lose to excellent teams, but also to bad teams.

I believe a discussion regarding their head coach, Nick Sirianni, is necessary at some point. It becomes very evident that, at this point, the Eagles’ success was due to their former coordinators, Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon, rather than Sirianni himself. And I believe that is self-evident.

Why waste all of this talent? The Eagles are one of the most talented teams in the NFL, and it appears that their head coach and his staff are holding them back. GM Howie Roseman shouldn’t waste time here, and barring an unexpected playoff run, Sirianni should be fired.

And it’s not unheard of for a coach to be fired following a winning season. With a roster this outstanding and a GM as brilliant as Roseman, the Eagles should make the difficult decision to release Nick Sirianni after the end of the 2023 NFL season.
