All eyes are on the Green Bay Packers as they prepare to face the Chicago Bears in Week 18. They’ve worked their way back to the point where a win over their fiercest rivals guarantees them a spot in the playoffs. It doesn’t get much more intense or interesting than that.

The health of brilliant young cornerback Eric Stokes has been one of the most depressing parts of the 2023 NFL season.

Due to injuries, Stokes has missed all but three games this season. He also didn’t have much of an influence in the three games. Things have not gone well for the Green Bay Packers rookie cornerback after a season full of huge plays and appearing like a serious covering cornerback.

Green Bay Packers Issue Disappointing Eric Stokes Injury Update
Stokes is now out with a hamstring issue. Head coach Matt LaFleur addressed Stokes during today’s press conference, expressing his disappointment in the young defensive back.

“Every time it seems he’s turning the corner and ready to go, there’s been some kind of setback.”

Stokes, who is only 24 years old, has plenty of time to get his career back on track. The Green Bay Packers appear to be sticking with him in the hopes that he can make a full recovery in 2024.

Should Stokes be able to return to full health, that would be a huge step forward for the Packers’ defense. Joe Barry is also set to leave, which is another step forward. With a new defensive coordinator, Green Bay might have a very talented defense next season.

Stokes will hopefully be able to attack his recovery process and get his body in shape for next season. A combination of Stokes and Jaire Alexander, coupled with the other excellent cornerbacks Green Bay has signed, would be ideal.
