The absence of wide receiver Christian Watson has been felt by the Green Bay Packers in recent weeks. Watson has been sidelined again due to a hamstring injury, this time sustained on the game-winning drive against the Kansas City Chiefs.

While the injury did not appear to be as serious as the one that kept him out earlier this season, Watson has missed a significant amount of time. He should be able to play against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

In a game against a vengeful foe, the Packers will need all of their top players to be available. Getting Watson back on the field would be a significant step forward.

Christian Watson’s injury status has been updated by the Green Bay Packers.
Head coach Matt LaFleur provided an update on Watson during a press conference about the upcoming game against the Bears. To say that the update has boosted the gifted wideout’s confidence is an understatement.

“I know he had a good week last week, and his running ability.” We’re hoping to stack that and have him accessible on Sunday. Because he’ll undoubtedly add a spark.”

Watson has appeared in just nine games this season. He has caught 28 passes for 422 yards and five touchdowns in those appearances.

Watson was on his way to becoming the Packers’ No. 1 wideout again until re-injuring his hamstring. Watson caught seven passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns against the Chiefs alone. Those figures alone demonstrate the kind of influence he can have when he’s healthy.

More information on Christian Watson’s status for Week 18 against the Bears will be released in the near future. The Packers appear to be enthusiastic about getting him back on the field, which would be a huge boost at the perfect time.
