ORCHARD PARK, NEW YORK — DaQuan Jones was activated from injured reserve by the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, bringing the starting defensive lineman back to the roster after missing 10 games due to a ruptured pectoral muscle.
Jones strengthens a defensive front that is missing Jordan Phillips, who was placed on injured reserve last week following wrist surgery. Jones started the first five games of the season before being injured in the Bills’ Oct. 8 defeat to the Jaguars in London, compiling 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
Buffalo (9-6) has won three straight and welcomes New England (4-11) in its last home game of the regular season on Sunday.
The Bills promoted offensive tackle Germain Ifedi back to the practice squad and released safety Tre Norwood in a similar move. Ifedi was cut on Friday to make room on the 53-man roster for Jones.
Jones was one of three major defensive players to be placed on injured reserve in a two-week span. Matt Milano (right leg) was also injured in the loss in London. Tre’Davious White, the starting cornerback, tore his right Achilles tendon a week ago.
White’s injury was season-ending, and McDermott believes Milano will be unable to return this season based on information from the medical staff.
