Coaches and players from the Buffalo Bills discuss their impending game against the New England Patriots.
Regarding the Patriots…
“They’re a decent football team.” As I’ve already stated, the NFL is up for grabs every week. Records don’t matter… they beat a solid football team in Denver. So I think they’re playing good football, they’re well-coached, and we all admire what they’ve accomplished here.”
– Sean McDermott, Bills Head Coach
“I think the fact that we lost game one tells these guys that we have to put our best stuff out there or we’re not going to win.” To be honest, we need to win this game, and they and we both know it. I’m looking to wreck the season of the New England Patriots if I’m in their locker room. Division foe, an opponent’s playoff aspirations are on the line, so they’ll be ready to go, I promise it.”
– Josh Allen, Bills quarterback
“What we have control over is what is in front of us, which is the New England Patriots on Sunday, and that is our best way to get into the playoffs: win this game and win the next.” We can’t win the next one unless we win this one, therefore we have to concentrate on this one.”
– Josh Allen, Bills quarterback
On the Patriots’ behalf…
“Their defense is performing admirably. They have smart players who can play many positions. They’re now rushing the passer really well.”
– Josh Allen, Bills quarterback
“It begins with their interior, not only eating up blocks but also maintaining gap integrity.” I believe they do an excellent job of maintaining gap integrity and understanding how offensive lineman try to play them not only before, but also during the game.”
– The Bills Center Morse, Mitch
Regarding Bill Belichick…
“He’s achieved so much.” Most, if not all, coaches are attempting to emulate Coach Belichick and get to where he has been for years. In terms of the big picture, he’s revolutionized the game in a lot of ways. Some of his suggestions have been taken into consideration by the league. He’s a very intelligent individual who excels at deploying his staff and making the most of what he has. I believe you can see that in the way his team has grown this year.”
– Sean McDermott, Bills Head Coach
On the subject of Bailey Zappe…
“He has excellent command of his offense, committing fewer turnovers and making sound decisions with the ball.” And I believe that’s what a successful quarterback should be.”
– Taron Johnson, Bills cornerback
