The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are trying hard to keep their defensive line-up from last season. Tanner Cadwallader, a linebacker, has been re-signed to a two-year contract by the team. Cadwallader, a fourth-round pick in the 2020 CFL Draft, elected to stay with Winnipeg after initially approaching free agency in February.
Cadwallader has established himself as an important special teams player over the course of three seasons. His statistics show his consistent presence, with 38 special teams tackles, four defensive stops, and a forced fumble while missing only one game. Cadwallader had 16 special teams tackles in 2023 alone.
Deatrick Nichols, a cornerback, has returned to Winnipeg.

During his time, Nichols amassed an astounding 126 defensive tackles, one sack, four interceptions, and a forced fumble. His contributions have earned him CFL All-Star recognition on two occasions, confirming his standing as a significant player in the league.
