The Green Bay Packers will spend the rest of the season preparing for the playoffs. To make the playoffs this season, they will need to win out (with a little help). It’s highly plausible, given that their last two games were against the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears.
Just days before their biggest game of the season, the Packers received some very encouraging injury news today.
The Green Bay Packers return two outstanding offensive players to practice ahead of their game against the Minnesota Vikings.
According to USA Today’s Ryan Wood:
Jayden Reed (toe/chest) and Dontayvion Wicks (chest) of the Packers are practicing.
Reed was inactive for the Packers this past Sunday after missing all of last week’s practice due to a toe injury received in Week 15. Despite missing the second half of the game due to a chest injury, fellow wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks was able to participate in Wednesday’s practice. Green Bay’s first practice report of Week 17 preparation will indicate both players’ activity levels at the end of the day.
Wicks had two receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown against the Panthers on Sunday. This season, he has 33 receptions for 520 yards and two touchdowns. Furthermore, Love has a 103.4 passer rating when targeted.
Reed has 711 all-purpose yards and eight total touchdowns this season. Both receivers have contributed significantly to Green Bay’s offense this season. Getting them back in the gym before their most important game of the year is critical.
