As the Brazilian media has widely reported in recent days, Paris Saint-Germain are about to win the race for So Paulo defender Lucas Beraldo.
Despite the fact that Leicester City were thought to be close to signing, the French side turned up and are just finalizing the details to complete the transfer.
According to a report in Globo Esporte today, Beraldo chose to join PSG on his own.
The Parisians aren’t offering much more than the Foxes, who have pledged to put €20 million on the table, which is why the player’s word is so vital.
According to Globo Esporte, Leicester City were considered as a ‘entry door’ for the Premier League because they have a high possibility of returning to the top division, and that would be a phase where he’d have’more circumstances to adapt’ before transferring to a European behemoth.
Nonetheless, Beraldo chose PSG since it is a ‘consolidated’ club in Europe with the ‘ambition’ of winning the Champions League.
Even a higher offer from Leicester City does not appear to have changed anything, so they will have to wait and see if the French club confirms the signing in the coming days.
