The Green Bay Packers’ tight end Luke Musgrave Reveals Horrible Information About His Kidney Injury

The Green Bay Packers are 6-8 heading into Week 16 against the lowly Carolina Panthers (2-12). While star running back Aaron Jones is no longer mentioned on the injury report, Darnell Savage, De’Vondre Campbell, and Luke Musgrave (who had been designated to return off injured reserve) have already been ruled out due to injuries.

Musgrave, of course, has missed the last four games due to a lacerated kidney sustained against the Los Angeles Chargers. While Green Bay definitely missed out on a second-round tight end in the 2023 NFL Draft, his absence has allowed them to evaluate third-round pick Tucker Kraft.

In Musgrave’s absence, the former South Dakota State standout has performed admirably, with 13 receptions for 173 yards and two scores in the last four games. When Musgrave returns to the field, the Packers may have one of the best receiving tight end tandems in the NFL.

Hopefully, he’ll be back before the season concludes. Musgrave is one reception away from tying the Packers’ rookie tight end record for catches. Bubba Franks established the record in 2000 with 34. Musgrave has 33 receptions for 341 yards and a score this season.

Musgrave also disclosed that he suffered a Grade Four cut to his kidney, the second-worst type of laceration a person can have. Even though he won’t be able to play without pain for the rest of the season, he hopes to return in Week 17 or 18.
