Despite recent reports from Brazil suggesting that Leicester City were on the verge of signing Lucas Beraldo from So Paulo, the situation appears to be changing.
According to journalist Gabriel Sá, the Brazilian club is planning to trade the defender to Paris Saint-Germain instead.
The French side is claimed to have advanced talks to secure the deal for €20 million plus €5 million in bonuses.
Beraldo, according to Gabriel Sá, will travel to Paris in the coming weeks to finalize the purchase.
On Monday, it was reported that Leicester City officials had already met with the player and informed So Paulo that they had outbid Zenit, who had offered €18 million for him.
The idea had always been that the Foxes, like PSG, would offer €20 million, though those bonuses were never announced.
Beraldo was stated to want to play in the Premier League and was eager to accept Leicester City’s offer due to his belief in their promotion. However, it appears that PSG had more compelling arguments to win the contest.
