Internal’strife’ over the Michigan Wolverines program, involving Jim Harbaugh, could have an impact on the 2024 decision.

Under Jim Harbaugh, the Michigan Wolverines are back in the College Football Playoff, with one of the top coaches in college football exceeding expectations in Ann Arbor. However, the fact that Harbaugh was available for Michigan may lead to his return to the NFL.

Harbaugh has been courted by NFL teams in the recent offseason, hoping to realize his unfulfilled dream of winning a Super Bowl. He came near with the San Francisco 49ers before leaving for Miochigan due to disagreements with 49ers leadership.

Jim Harbaugh’s college record with the Michigan Wolverines is 85-25.

While Harbaugh’s record as a winner and head coach speaks for itself, his attitude creates conflict with those around him. There appears to be friction among the Wolverines’ athletic department as they strive to sign him to a new contract deal amid fresh NFL interest.

Yahoo Sports senior reporter Charles Robinson revealed on the latest Inside Coverage podcast that there is some internal disagreement between Harbaugh and the head of Michigan’s athletic department.

“Prior to the sign-stealing investigation, Michigan was confident they would sign him to a long-term contract.” There is now internal turmoil in Michigan. Harbaugh and the athletic director are not best friends and are unlikely to be on each other’s Christmas card list. He and Ward Manuel aren’t the quickest of pals.”

Harbaugh hasn’t exactly left the Wolverines with a simple choice. The sign-stealing incident loomed over the Wolverines’ unblemished season, and a loss to Alabam in the CFP Semifinal would be yet another postseason letdown for this team.

In this scenario, Jim Harbaugh will ‘certainly leave’ the Michigan Wolverines.

Harbaugh may still be suspended by the NCAA in 2024, with penalties lasting the full season and influencing which players enter the transfer portal. Because Harbaugh’s personality isn’t changing, the chances of the internal conflict being resolved are slim.

Many people believe that if Michigan wins the national championship, Harbaugh will leave for the NFL. Even if the Wolverines fall just short and Harbaugh fails to win the national championship, it appears that his days as a college football coach are over.
