Green Bay Packers: Joe Barry Issues Statement Regarding Disgruntled De’Vondre Campbell

The Green Bay Packers have recently encountered difficulties. After winning three straight games to re-enter the playoffs, they have since lost two in a row and are on the outside looking in coming into Week 16. While the Packers winning out offers them a great chance of making the playoffs, it appears to be a tough order at the present.

Inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell made some scathing remarks about his experiences with the squad. Many supporters pointed the finger at Joe Barry, believing he was to blame for Campbell’s annoyance. Today, Barry issued a statement regarding the disgruntled linebacker.

Embattled Packers DC Joe Barry Breaks Silence on Firing Rumors

Joe Barry, the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers, has issued a statement regarding De’Vondre Campbell.

According to USA Today’s Ryan Wood:

“‘Dre is an absolute warrior, and I mean that in every aspect of his game,” says Joe Barry of De’Vondre Campbell. As a manager. As a member of our locker room. As a man in our conference room. In our linebacker locker room. I have the biggest regard for that man, and he has my full backing.”

At least publicly, Barry has been quite supportive of his teammates. Inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell’s cryptic message on X (previously Twitter) caused many to believe he was upset with his defensive coach, causing a flurry of rage. He has declined to respond since that post, but Matt LaFleur has attributed his complaints to his injury and has given him this week off to rehabilitate.

This will be a challenging week for the Packers, particularly their defense. They will face the 2-12 Carolina Panthers. It will be an excellent opportunity to get back on track. However, if the Packers falter against the Panthers, things will only get worse.
