NFL Writer Makes Claims About Green Bay Packers Former quarterback Aaron Rodgers duped the New York Jets, costing them a playoff spot.

The Green Bay Packers haven’t thought about Aaron Rodgers in a long time, yet he remains at the top of all of the Jets’ tales.

Around this time, the New York Jets were expected to be preparing for a Super Bowl run.

They were the talk of the offseason, and both local and national media were excited about them.

Aaron Rodgers was the glaring omission. The Jets boasted one of the league’s best defenses, an offensive squad stacked with youthful talent at key skill spots, and a competent coaching staff that included Rodgers’ former Green Bay offensive coordinator.

Rodgers was even accommodated by the front office by bringing in players he was familiar with and advocated for, such as Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb.

Despite possessing a plethora of skill in the backfield, the Jets signed Dalvin Cook. They were practically betting everything on 2023.

After all of the buzz and anticipation, Met Life Stadium erupted as Aaron Rodgers led the New York Jets onto the field in Week 1.

And then, all of a sudden, everything changed. Rodgers took his third dropback as the Jets’ savior on his fourth snap and was pressured just like the first two. This time, Bills pass rusher Leonard Floyd grabbed him and pulled him down, causing Rodgers’ left foot to catch on the turf and his Achilles to rip.

The four-time Most Valuable Player rose to his feet, then sat back down.

Rodgers was carried to the locker room following his visit to the blue medical tent. On the program, he was seen wearing a walking boot on his way to X-rays.

An NFL writer takes a potshot at former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre.

NFL journalist Nora Princiotti made some bold assertions about Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets in a blistering post published on Wednesday for The Ringer that is receiving a lot of attention on social media.

Princiotti begins her post with a paragraph regarding Rodgers’ recent announcement on the Pat McAfee show earlier this week that he will not heal from his Achilles injury in time to play this season.

“To be clear, nothing here is shocking. Rodgers will most likely return to football activities with no restrictions at offseason practices in April, which puts him almost exactly in line with the recovery timeline that he so resents the medical community considers typical for athletes returning from Achilles surgery. The update is that the 40-year-old quarterback is not a medical marvel, and the 1 percent increase in inspiration was less important to Rodgers’ return than the rates at which fibroblasts release collagen proteins and those proteins organize themselves into the tightly packed bundles that make up a strong tendon. What a surprise.”

She then goes on to discuss the former Green Bay Packers player and how he constantly rewriting the narrative surrounding his injuries, particularly through his appearances on the Pat McAfee Show, giving the Jets hope and optimism before ultimately backtracking.

“The fact that this story has been covered breathlessly for months is largely due to Rodgers’ unparalleled ability to make himself the main character in the NFL.” Rodgers had made a series of bold and attention-grabbing statements about his goal to return within days of his injury, including that it would “shock some people” and something about the healing properties of dolphin sex noises. He’s spent much of the season spinning a dramatic comeback story from McAfee’s bully pulpit and other safe havens, never having to back it up.”

Jets Open Aaron Rodgers's 21-Day Window to Return From Achilles Injury

She cites a moment after the Chargers’ Week 9 loss when Rodgers was heard on a hot mic telling Los Angeles defender Derwin James, “Give me a few weeks,” apparently in response to a question about when he’d be back on the field.

“He backtracked two days later on McAfee’s show, claiming that he stated so “tongue in cheek,” Princiotti added.

“It’d be nice to be able to be back in a couple weeks,” he remarked. “That is most likely not a realistic timeline.” It could be a little number or a large number. It’s more of a term with no set timetable. I joked about it while smiling.”

Princiotti continued to point out the inconsistencies.

“However, he told NBC’s Melissa Stark the following week that his goal was to return in mid-December.” Days later, despite being the source of the claim, he refuted it on McAfee’s show. The pattern has always been completely clear. Rodgers makes a big assertion while he’s in the spotlight, like on Sunday Night Football, then backs down or says he was just kidding when challenged on it—if he’s pressed at all.”

Did Aaron Rodgers Destroy the New York Jets in 2023?

From an objective standpoint, this all feels a little intense and unjust.

Sure, he’s been one of the greatest storylines in the NFL since the Green Bay Packers let him go and he joined the Jets.

The injuries merely added to the drama.

Most sane NFL fans saw Rodgers’ many attempts to imply he might return this season as cautious optimism, but they didn’t place much stock in what he said.

However, Princiotti believes Aaron Rodgers wrecked the New York Jets season by putting the attention on himself and promising an unparalleled return.

“A portion of maintaining a strong relationship with Rodgers appears to depend on justifying his distorted reality, and the Jets have spent the last three months indulging his comeback bid at the expense of attempting to salvage their season.” When Rodgers went down four snaps into the team’s first game, the team decided that putting him on that pedestal was more important than attempting to save itself.

Aaron Rodgers' season is over, so why are the Jets activating him?

This is all quite ridiculous, but generally harmless. What isn’t is the Jets’ attitude toward the quarterback position since Rodgers’ injury. While they were feeding the ESPN-industrial complex, they ruined their very genuine prospects of making the playoffs by keeping Wilson as their starting quarterback for the majority of the season.

Don’t be duped into thinking there’s a reasonable explanation for this. When Rodgers got hurt, it was widely believed that they’d make some kind of position-stabilizing move. Nothing showy, but not nothing either. They only added Trevor Siemian to the practice squad.

In this muddled AFC, they didn’t need spectacular quarterback play to fight for a postseason spot. With a defense ranked third by DVOA and a special teams unit ranked fourth, it’s a clear credit to defensive-minded coach Robert Saleh that the club still appears to be playing hard.”

Sure, hindsight is 20/20, but Wilson showed potential at the time, and he’s even shone in a handful of the games he’s started. The Flacco case is an outlier. Teams throughout the league are trying to find a capable signal caller, since starting quarterbacks have been injured more this season than in any other season in recent memory (or so it appears).

“So they’ll try again next year—after an offseason in which Rodgers told McAfee he hopes to contribute to personnel decisions.” If he stays healthy in his first season after turning 40 and delivers New York average play, the team should be competitive in 2024. But it didn’t have to be about next year so soon, and it might not have been if the Jets weren’t so eager to purchase what Rodgers was offering. They desired a savior. They were taken advantage of.”
