The Green Bay Packers defense is still out of sync after allowing 34 points to Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense last Sunday.

Players and coaches have been disappointed by the lack of defensive stops, and fans are growing impatient, even clamoring for coaches to be fired. With these two players missing Wednesday’s practice, the Packers’ playoff chances will become even more tough.

De’Vondre Campbell will miss practice following a statement he made to the Packers coaching staff on Tuesday.

De’Vondre Campbell, a former All-Pro linebacker, did not practice on Wednesday. Campbell was irritated following the Buccaneers’ loss on Sunday and raised eyebrows on Tuesday morning when he commented on X about playing despite injuries.

Campbell has missed four games this season and has only played 56.9 percent of the snaps when he has been on the field. His injury-plagued season may have contributed to his dissatisfaction, but Campbell’s absence from practice is something to keep an eye on ahead of Sunday’s game against Carolina. Losing the former All-Pro would only exacerbate Green Bay’s problems in the future.

Darnell Savage will miss practice on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury.

Darnell Savage was also absent from practice on Wednesday due to a shoulder ailment that held him out last week. Savage and Jaire Alexander were both sidelined for last week’s game against Tampa Bay, and their presence in the secondary was felt.

Last Sunday, the Packers’ secondary was riddled with holes due to the absence of Savage and Alexander. Baker Mayfield threw for a perfect passer rating, the first time an opposing quarterback has ever done so at Lambeau Field. It gets worse with 381 passing yards and four touchdowns, and it all starts with pass coverage.

Alexander returned to practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday, but Savage’s participation has yet to be recorded. Bringing either of them back would help the Packers address their defensive woes.

Both Campbell and Savage will participate in two more sessions before flying to Carolina to face the Panthers on Sunday.
