Great News for the Michigan Wolverines

The university’s low point has been the sign-stealing controversy. Prior to the incident, it was rumored that Harbaugh was hoping to extend his contract. Those discussions were put on hold, but it appears that an announcement will be made soon.

According to reports, the contract is for five years at $11 million per year. According to Michigan insider John U. Bacon, “things are trending positively” following a “breakthrough” this week. Since the scandal emerged, rumors have circulated that this would be Harbaugh’s final season at Michigan. With so many appealing opportunities available, this was the ideal opportunity to return to the NFL. It has even been reported that teams are vying for Harbaugh. However, he does not appear to be available. The university is working hard to keep him on campus.

According to the article, there is only one item holding this up. Michigan is seeking a written promise from Harbaugh stating that he will not pursue a career in the NFL after this season. It has been a few of offseasons in which the Wolverines have wondered if their coach will return. They certainly want the program to be more stable. Michigan struggled for a long period with coaches and mediocrity. They want their boyfriend to stay now that they have him.

If he stays, it will be a huge boost for the Michigan Wolverines. Jim Harbaugh has revitalized the program, and the university wants that to continue.
