Ethan Ampadu, a Leeds United midfielder, has warned Leicester City and Ipswich Town that it is still too early in the season to get carried away with their lead over the Whites.
With the season halfway through, a ten-point gap has opened up between third-placed Leeds United and second-placed Ipswich, while Leicester leads by 13 points.
Many believe that Ipswich and Leicester will not slow down, and that Leeds, despite their good form, may have to settle for a playoff position.
Ampadu, on the other hand, is hesitant to focus on what is being said and thinks that Leeds are confident.
He emphasized that, despite the deficit, there are still more games to be played and the season is not yet over.
“I think we all find it [turning off all the noise] pretty simple,” Ampadu said on BBC Radio Leeds.
“I know it’s very easy to say, but it’s not the end of the season.”
“They have a small gap, but it is not the end of the season; there are still a lot of games and minutes to be played.”
“We have faith in ourselves.”
“But to get that right, you have to take each game as it is and make sure that the next 90 minutes I the best 90 minutes of the season.”
Leeds, who have only one point from their past two league games, will host Ipswich at the weekend.
