Barry’s defenses in Green Bay have finished 10th, 13th, and 17th in points allowed over three seasons. His units rated 32nd (both Lions teams), 28th (both Washington teams), and 9th, 17th, and 23rd in yardage during his three years with the Packers.

I am a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, and my affection for this team has no bounds. However, it causes me great grief, aggravation, and rage to see how our defensive coordinator Joe Barry’s terrible coaching decisions have regularly harmed the performance of our cherished club.
Historically, teams led by Barry have consistently rated low in defensive statistics. During his tenures with Detroit and Washington, his defenses never rated higher than 28th in total defense, according to NFL.com statistics (source). Unfortunately, this pattern has continued with the Packers.
Under Barry’s direction, points allowed per game increased from 19.6 to 23.1 (source: Pro-Football-Reference). This has resulted in devastating losses that could have easily been victories if not for his shoddy defense plans.
Barry’s track record plainly demonstrates a pattern of underperformance that we can no longer ignore or tolerate as fans who care strongly about our team’s success. We require a defensive coordinator that can effectively lead our defense unit and contribute positively to our team’s success rather than leading us to lose games due to poor strategy decisions.
We ask the Green Bay Packers’ management to seriously consider this request from its devoted fan base and take immediate action by relieved Joe Barry of his duties as Defensive Coordinator for the sake of our beloved team.
