Liverpool face West Ham United this evening in the second of three games at Anfield this week.

After a 1-1 tie with Manchester United on Sunday, the mood among the fans has dimmed slightly. However, with Arsenal visiting on Saturday, a win tonight would give everyone a boost.

Caoimhin Kelleher, speaking to liverpoolfc.com, says he’s ‘eager’ to face the Hammers despite the fact that this evening’s game is the least appealing of the three this week.

“It’s the quarter-finals now so it will be a big game for us, in front of Anfield as well,” said the keeper.

“It’ll be a tough game against West Ham, but hopefully we can win and get one step closer to Wembley.”

“I’ve obviously had some fantastic moments in this competition.” Personally, it has provided me with numerous opportunities to obtain games and other items. When this competition comes around, I only have pleasant recollections, therefore I’m always delighted to perform in it.”

Kelleher asserts Carabao
With the Carabao Cup now in the quarter-finals, some fans may have been wondering if Alisson Becker will be in goal tonight.

However, Kelleher will be the man between the sticks, according to liverpoolfc.com.
As the Irishman points out, he has already won this competition with the Reds. The journey to the 2022 trophy comprised a quarter-final against then-FA Cup holders Leicester City, a two-leg encounter with Arsenal, and a final versus Chelsea. Kelleher has the necessary experience.

As a result, no one should be concerned that the 25-year-old will be in net for tonight’s game.

Having only played four times last season, Kelleher has now amassed 9 appearances in 2023/24. That’s already a record in a season for the Ireland international. Should Liverpool progress, he’ll be guaranteed at least two more. So, Caoimhin has even more incentive to win against West Ham.

As his future remains uncertain, this season could be his final chance to win the Carabao Cup at Liverpool.

Given the remaining clubs in the competition, the Reds should feel confident. However, with injury concerns hanging over the team, tonight’s game will be a genuine test.

Nonetheless, Liverpool has a significant home edge. In these games, Anfield rarely disappoints. We, like Kelleher, are excited to see what this evening has in store.
