The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers will be inextricably linked for the rest of time. They spent 18 years together, won a championship, numerous division titles, and made innumerable memories. Most Packers supporters were heartbroken when Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury on his opening possession of the season. While supporters may not have wanted to watch him win a Super Bowl somewhere, an injury is never desirable.
supporters, pundits, and supporters have wondered all season if Rodgers will return this season, next season, or ever in his career. Rodgers was insistent on returning this season, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. He issued a statement today addressing his overall future with the New York Jets.
Aaron Rodgers, former Green Bay Packers quarterback, makes an announcement about his future with the New York Jets.
Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team says:
Aaron Rodgers on his carrying the American flag onto the field in Week 1.
“That will not be my lasting image in a Jets jersey.” The night is always the darkest before the sun, and we’ll rise again.”
Rodgers has made it obvious that he intends to return to the Jets next season and compete for a title.
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Monday, “Aaron wants to play.”
Rodgers must be activated off IR by Wednesday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, if he wants to play this season, though the team’s performance against the Dolphins certainly played a role.
After being authorized to practice on November 29, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on Saturday that he would most likely be cleared to practice “this upcoming week.” Rodgers’ long-term health is jeopardized if he returns to practice when the Jets have already been eliminated from contention.
Aaron Rodgers could be back in Green Bay next season.
Both the New York Jets and the Green Bay Packers are presently third in their respective divisions. The NFC North will host an AFC East team next season. If both teams finish in the same division at the end of the season, Rodgers will return to Lambeau Field in 2024.
That would most likely be one of the “must watch” games in 2024. It will be interesting to see how the cards fall with three games remaining this season.
