Leeds United will want to strengthen wherever possible in January, and one position they may look to boost is offensive midfielder.
Leeds United’s attacking ranks are filled with notable talents. Their front four has been their main strength this season, but an attacking midfielder could be on their want list when the January transfer window opens.
Turkish international Kerem Akturkoglu has been connected, and The Athletic’s Phil Hay has previously stated that a no.10 could be a useful addition.
With that in mind, here are three attacking midfielders Leeds United should consider signing before the end of the season…
Burnley’s Aaron Ramsey
Ramsey drew attention during Championship loan spells with Norwich City and Middlesbrough last season, where he provided an eager offensive presence in attacking midfield. He hasn’t played since permanently switching from Aston Villa to Burnley.
Another term in the second division with regular game time could be beneficial for the young 20-year-old. Although he is only on loan, he could be a good fit for Leeds United’s energetic frontline.
Florent Muslija plays for SC Paderborn.
Muslija, 25, has been a revelation in Germany’s second division this season. He has emerged as Paderborn’s most significant player, working as a no.10 or left winger, with a return of nine goals and six assists in 19 appearances across all competitions.
The Kosovo international’s contract expires at the end of the season, and after starring in the 2.Bundesliga, he could be in line for a big move.
HNK Rijeka’s Toni Fruk
Last but not least is a more out-of-the-box alternative, but he has the most imaginative output of the bunch. Fruk, 22, just joined HNK Rijeka from Fiorentina in the summer, but his return of two goals and 11 assists in 18 league games will have caught the eye.
If given the chance, Fruk has excellent vision and passing ability and could thrive in a productive Leeds United team.
